Learn to Make Cheese

at the Pine Meadow Farm Center in Cheney

Event date: 6/1/2013 11:00 AM - 5:00 AM Export event

We are going to offer another home cheese-making workshop on Saturday, June 1 from 1pm to 5pm at the farm. This will be a basic course. We will demonstrate the steps involved in making five types of cheese using raw goat milk: fresh Chevre, fresh dry curd cottage cheese, feta, quick acid cheese and a pressed cheese for aging.

This workshop is for people who have dairy animals and also for those who don't, but are curious to learn how to make home-made cheese.

Cost: $25 per adult. $5 per child. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

Pre-Registration: Because of limited space in our kitchen, we do require pre-registration for this workshop. Please contact us to reserve your place(s). Email: zone1@pinemeadowfarm.org - Phone: 509-448-3066

The workshop will be presented by our Farm Manager, Chrys Ostrander, who has kept goats and experimented with cheese-making since 1998.
