On Friday, June 28, our Spokane Food Forest Initiative committee will be meeting at the home of Gloria, Marc, and Arrow Flora near Colville. For privacy reasons I will not post the address in this public forum, but can share the address with you by email.

If you need a ride from Spokane, Ed Bryant has room in his car, as may Will and Sheila coming through Spokane from Ritzville.

We would like to see as many members of the study group as can take the time to join us.

Bring a lunch - we are brown bagging it. Rosemary and I will leave our house with Steve Spickard and David Tremaine at 9:00 AM, and get to Deer Park at 9:40. There we will meet up with Ed Bryant (Spokane Valley), Jeff Hedge, the Kearns (Ritzville), Hagars (Mead), and Footes (Colbert) at the former Sears in Deer Park, 603 S Fir Ave.

Directions: Take US 395 N, look for the Deer Park Ace Hardware on the right, Immediately N of Ace Hardware, turn right (east) off US 395 onto W 'H' St and take an immediate left (north) on S Fir Ave. The former Sears parking lot will be on the right (east).

Our caravan leaves Deer Park at 10AM, and we will get to Gloria, Marc, and Arrow's home at just after 11AM, where I am hoping we will be joined by Nathan Calene (Colville) and Kyle Chamberlain (Kettle Falls). Gloria will give us the tour and the agroforestry plan for the place, we will break out lunch at noon, discuss Spokane food forest, and expect to wrap up by 2PM, get back by 4PM.We will be discussing recent developments, immediate opportunities. We will discuss our longer term vision, mission, and organization.

Our meeting is in preparation for Ed Bryant presenting on behalf of the Food Forest Initiative Committee on Tuesday July 2 3PM to the Urban Forestry Citizen Advisory Committee at the Woodland Center at John A. Finch Arboretum, 3404 W Woodland Blvd, Spokane, WA 99224. We will be asking the CAC to align the urban forestry program with food forest objectives.
