Food Forest Meeting Minutes 22nd August 2013

·       Food forest species list after a few removals stands as a good basic list that already have cultivars locally available. Details to be included in separate columns are USDA cold hardiness, uses such as for wildlife and human consumption, and the nurseries  the plant cultivars are available at

·       Locations of food forest demonstration suggestions: Finch arboretum, Hazel creek or Froggy pond multi-use areas, Grant Park, Glover field, Palisades

·       Locations where food forest species are already established and may have a group of people or neighbors who are interested in maintenance (small group ministries?)

·       There are a few scholarships for Gaias Garden food forest workshop still available

·       Recommendations to tree committee, with design for a specific location and identified stakeholders (including neighbors)

·       Tentatively scheduled  field trip to possible site locations Wednesday September 4th  from 8:30-Noon, meet at Spokane Conservation District 210 N. Havana
