Come Learn About Bees at the Pine Meadow Farm Center - Sat. April 13

Pine Meadow Farm Center

Event date: 4/13/2013 9:00 AM - 12:00 AM Export event

Kevin Oldenburg is a beekeeper with the West Plains Beekeepers Association based in Medical Lake. Kevin is installing two hives at the Pine Meadow Farm Center and on Saturday, April 13 he will be demonstrating how to install newly purchased bees (packages) into the two hives. The demo is mainly for the benefit of the West Plains Beekeepers Association, but anyone can come, free of charge, to observe the process. You are most welcome.

Kevin will be installing one hive at about 11:00am on Saturday and the second one between 11:30 and noon.

Additionally, every Saturday at 10AM through about the middle of May Kevin will be at Pine Meadow Farm Center to take care of his bees and everyone is invited to show up to observe him and ask questions.

Please be aware that, although remote, there is always a possibility of being stung around bees.

You are welcome to stay for an informal potluck lunch at the farm starting at noon (please bring food to share and your own table settings).

Then at 1:00pm there will be another workshop on Grass and Pasture for the Back 40 or the Back Yard. Cost for the Grass and Pasture workshop is $15 per person (children 15 and under, accompanied by an adult, are $5). No one is turned away for lack of funds. We take cash or checks made out to Pine Meadow Farm Center.

See our website, pinemeadowfarm.org, for more information and directions to the farm.
