We Invite You to Apply to be a Presenter at the 2026 Spokane Permaculture Symposium

We are grateful that you are applying to present at the Spokane Permaculture Symposium, August 22 & 23. Please complete this form so that we may review all the applicants and proposals. We'll let you know as soon as a decisions are reached regarding the flash presentations and keynote speaker.

A note about the symposium format: This year we will be doing a total of 16 lightning presentations (10 minute presentations, 5 minute Q & A) and one hour-long keynote address. Twelve lightning presentations and the keynote will be on Saturday and four lightning presentations will be on Sunday.  Hopefully you will be able to attend the full weekend as your expertise is important for the symposium outcomes.  There will be an opportunity for a smaller work group on Sunday and time for a longer whole group discussion.

Below you can choose which small-group work topic you would like to participate in (if you wish, you can choose one on Saturday and one on Sunday). Consequently, we invite you to focus your lightning presentation around the topic of the small group you'll be participating in that day. Depending on work group sizes, we may combine/reconfigure as necessary.

You also have the opportunity below to propose a topic for a keynote address that you would like to present. From the keynote proposals submitted, we will choose one presenter for the Keynote address which will occur on Saturday 8/22 at 11:10am and run for one hour.

Files must be less than 3 MB.
Allowed file types: gif jpg jpeg png webp.

Please use the following slots to propose lightning presentations on subjects you would wish to speak on. Please provide a title and description for each proposal. If accepted, we will try and accommodate your time-slot preferences but there are only 4 lightning presentations scheduled for each time slot, so we may be contacting you to suggest alternate times for your presentations. You could propose up to three topics on Saturday and one topic on Sunday but we suggest you limit your proposals for lightning presentations to one per day.

The Keynote Address is scheduled for 11:10am on Saturday 8/22 to run for one hour. We are accepting detailed proposals from any presenters who wish to be considered for selection to be our Keynote Speaker. If this interests you, please make your proposal below.

Along with the lightning presentations, the Symposium will host work group breakout sessions around the series of topics listed below. Work groups will happen on Sunday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Each small group will self-select a group facilitator, a note-taker and a person to report the group's deliberations back to the whole group (note-taker and reporter could be the same person). These small-group roundtable discussions will have no hierarchy among the participants, but certainly will be enriched by the participation of one or more of our invited presenters in the conversations. Please choose the work group topic of your choice that you would like to participate in. For the topic you select, we will include your name and a link to your picture and bio in the break-out sessions' descriptions on the website.

We have space for 17 tables (half or full). Reach out to participants, showcase your work, network. No charge.
